Returning to Lost Ark in 2026 means dealing with a shorter early progression path, Tier 4 character systems, expanded Solo Mode raids, and temporary events that can move one selected character toward current endgame content.
Do not open material chests or spend Gold immediately after logging in. Review your roster, available events, stored resources, and existing builds before selecting a character for progression.

What Changed in Lost Ark
Early gear progression has been compressed, and lower equipment tiers no longer require the same honing route found in older guides. Current progression centers on Tier 4 gear, Ark Passive, Ark Grid, Solo Mode, Paradise, and Kazeros raid content.
Class Engravings now work through Ark Passive in Tier 4. Ark Grid adds Cores and Astrogems at later Item Levels. Solo Mode covers more raids, and seasonal support events provide gear materials, bound Gold, gems, cards, and Ark Grid items.
Your old character may remain playable, but its accessories, gems, presets, and skill setup may need revision.
Check Your Existing Roster
Review every possible main character before claiming limited rewards.
Check:
- Item Level and equipped gear
- Completed continents and story quests
- Bound materials and unopened selection chests
- Gems, cards, accessories, and Ability Stones
- Powerpass and Express event eligibility
- Mail, Universal Storage, and Product Inventory
- Stronghold research and permanent roster bonuses
Keep flexible chests closed until you know which character and material tier you plan to support. Read old material tooltips before dismantling anything, since some resources may have exchange options.
Skill Point Potions, cards, runes, Roster Level, and collectible rewards remain useful across the account. These bonuses can make an established character a better choice than a newer character with slightly higher gear.
Choose Your Main Character
Select one character for active progression during your first weeks back. Funding several characters at once can delay access to the next raid or event milestone.
Compare your options by:

Powerpass and Progression Events
The Event Trixion Pass – South Rimeria Pass is listed as claimable until September 16, 2026.
The following June progression events now end during maintenance on August 19, 2026:
- Kazeros Challenge Express
- Twilight Road
- Twilight Exchange Shop
- Mokoko Bootcamp
Their end dates were moved forward from September 16 due to the August server merge.
Kazeros Challenge Express
Kazeros Challenge Express accepts a character between Item Level 1640 and 1701. It supports progression through Item Level 1700 with higher honing success rates, reduced material costs, and milestone rewards.
Assign it to the character you plan to keep progressing rather than a temporary alt.
Twilight Road
Twilight Road covers Item Levels 1700 through 1730. Its milestones include honing materials, bound Gold, Cores, Astrogems, and Astrogem Processing Tickets.
Check the event interface for unclaimed milestones before August 19.
Base Camp
Base Camp is planned for September 2026. According to the official Lost Ark 2026 roadmap, new and returning players will enter a dedicated Mokoko Training Center and progress to Item Level 1700 through guided missions and pre-enhanced gear without manual honing.
A player returning near the end of the current events should compare available progress with the announced September support before spending a large amount of tradable resources.

Solo Mode and Raid Progression
Solo Mode provides a practical setting for relearning class skills, raid mechanics, counters, stagger checks, and Battle Item usage.
The July 2026 update added Solo Mode for:
- Kazeros Raid Act 4: Fortress of Destruction at Item Level 1700
- Kazeros Raid Denouement: Final Day at Item Level 1710
Solo, Normal, and Hard versions share entry counts and gate progress. Clearing the first gate in Solo Mode locks the character into that difficulty for the remaining gates in the same entry cycle.
Half of the Gold earned from each Solo Mode gate is issued as Character-Bound Gold. It can pay for eligible character upgrades but cannot be spent on the Market or Auction House.
Start with content below the character’s limit, confirm that the build works, then move toward raids near the current Item Level. Group content makes more sense once you can maintain the class rotation and recognize the major mechanics.
The updated Mokoko Buff applies to eligible rosters whose maximum achieved Item Level was below 1720 on July 15, 2026. Its current version adds combat assistance for new and returning players.
Ark Passive and Ark Grid
Ark Passive and Ark Grid affect different parts of the build.
Ark Passive
Ark Passive becomes the main Tier 4 character setup. It contains:
- Evolution for combat stats and effects connected with gear sets
- Enlightenment for class identity and specialization
- Leap for Hyper Awakening effects
Turning on Ark Passive changes how stats, Class Engravings, gear effects, accessories, and Ability Stones contribute to the build.
Check all three tabs after changing gear or copying a current class setup. An old Tier 3 preset may not match the current Ark Passive configuration.
Ark Grid
Ark Grid is a character-based endgame system built around Cores and Astrogems.
Order Cores provide class-specific effects, while Chaos Cores provide universal effects. Astrogems activate Core effects and supply additional combat bonuses.
The system opens after the character registers its first Core. Cores come from later Kazeros content, while Astrogems appear in eligible Tier 4 activities, events, and crafting.
Use the auto-equip feature as a starting setup, then check whether the result fits your class and selected Ark Passive path. Do not process every Astrogem before choosing which Core setup the character will keep.
Paradise Activities
Paradise Season 4 runs from July 15, 2026, through February 3, 2027. It is solo seasonal content with separate gear and three connected activities.
Elysian
Elysian is a wave-based activity that drops Legacy of Paradise gear and related materials. Better gear raises your seasonal power and opens higher stages.
Crucible
Crucible is a timed solo boss challenge. Your result affects stage progress and weekly class rankings. Higher clears provide access to stronger Elysian stages and Hell Keys.
Hell
Hell is a descending dungeon where keys determine the available run. Deeper progress can lead to stronger reward choices. Season 4 added new risk-and-reward mechanics during the descent.
Most standard build systems do not apply inside Paradise. The character gains most of its power from Legacy of Paradise gear, though skill levels and skill traits remain active.
Paradise is useful for returning players with an unfinished standard build since progress inside it does not depend entirely on normal accessories, gems, cards, and Ark Passive.
Rebuilding Your Character Build
Set the core build before buying replacements. This reduces the chance of paying for accessories or gems that do not fit the selected class setup.

When the rebuild requires accessories, gems, Engraving Recipes, honing materials, or raid consumables, players can buy Gold in Lost Ark through Auction House delivery without sharing account login details.
Gold Priorities for Returning Players
Spend Gold according to the next playable result rather than trying to complete every system at once.
- Fix the core build. Correct stats, Engravings, main gems, and required consumables.
- Reach the next entry threshold. Fund the gear needed for one selected raid or event milestone.
- Complete active progression systems. Pay for upgrades that affect the content you currently play.
- Delay optional upgrades. Higher gem levels, accessory quality, and alt progression can wait until the main build works.
Do not purchase a full endgame setup before testing the class. A short Solo Mode or Trixion session may reveal that the selected class path, skills, or stat distribution needs to change.
