Which class should I choose in Bless Unleashed?

Looking for the best Bless Unleashed class? It’s important to choose a playstyle that you’ll enjoy while you struggle through the story to reach the maximum level. And since the MMORPG focuses on action combat, it’s especially important to choose a class with which you’ll feel comfortable.

Bless Unleashed is a free MMORPG that has just been released on the PC, although it has been available on consoles for a while. It could also be easy to confuse Bless Unleashed with Bless Online, an MMORPG that briefly existed a few years ago. But apart from the fact that Unleashed is set in the same universe and uses the logic of the last mentioned game, it’s a completely different experience.

So if you’d like to jump in, but aren’t sure which class to choose in Bless Unleashed, this guide should help you narrow down your options.

How the Bless Unleashed classes work

There are five classes to choose from, and each has a unique feeling. At the beginning of the game you get a short tutorial that introduces you to movement and basic class abilities. The game also lets you face off against a boss-like opponent, to give you an idea of how he’ll do in a longer fight.

While each class has its own unique abilities assigned to specific buttons, your basic attacks – which are tied to the left and right mouse buttons by default – can trigger different combo attacks depending on the order in which you press them.

You’ll be able to customize each class with different skills and abilities, so you can use your preferred play style and the skills you enjoy the most.

Below you’ll find the basics of each Bless Unleashed class, their initial abilities to give you a taste of how they play, and our impressions of each class.

Berserker (Melee Damage Dealer)

This axe-wielding class seems relatively slow, but it gives you quite a satisfaction how powerful and intuitive it feels in the tutorial. You get access to a jump that lets you approach enemies and throw them to the ground. Also, no Berserker would be complete without the typical whirlwind attack with an axe, which lets you deal damage to multiple enemies. The only real drawback – apart from its slowness – is the same as with any other melee class: you’ll have to make sure you’re ready to dodge all large attacks to survive.

Stance 1 (Available at level 1)

Use your axe to hook and damage enemies. This ability does not interrupt combos, even if used during a combo.

Stance 2 (Available at level 1)

Jumps forward up to 20 meters and deals damage to enemies

Stance 3 (Available at level 4)

Whirls your axe around you as you move, dealing repeated damage to nearby enemies. Lasts up to 4 seconds or until you cancel the attack.

Stance 4 (Available from level 7)

Gather your power to unleash a series of devastating head blows as you fight through your enemies. The longer you charge up this skill, the more attacks you’ll be able to perform.

Mage (Ranged Damage Dealer)

I usually prefer to play ranged classes, and I immediately fell in love with the mage. It feels really strong, and even when enemies get close, you have abilities that can knock them back or slow them down. Also, if everything else fails, you can teleport or dodge, but they’ll probably be dead before they get near you. The spell feels fast and you’re not rooted to the spot, though there are some longer spells that can do considerable damage if positioned correctly.

Stance 1 (Available at level 1)

Boosts arcane energy and unleashes it in the form of a wide beam in front of you, dealing damage to affected enemies and knocking them back. This attack results in a follow-up attack if used again within three seconds.

Stance 2 (Available at level 2)

Summons a frost spike that erupts from the ground beneath a single target. Cast again within three seconds to ignore the cooldown, up to three times in a row.

Stance 3 (Available at level 4)

Summons a circle of ice shards that erupt from the earth around you, injuring enemies within range.

Stance 4 (Available from level 7)

Summons a roaring fire that spreads in a straight line in front of you, damaging enemies in its path. Cast it again within three seconds to ignore the cooldown for up to three consecutive effects.

Ranger (Ranged Damage Dealer)

After playing the fast-casting mage, the bow-wielding ranger feels a little less fluid – due in part to the need to reload after a certain number of arrows. However, the bow feels very powerful and has no trouble taking out enemies. And if something gets too close, you can back away to a safe distance with a kick and a jump.

This is the only class that feels more natural to me once you get past the tutorial and spend more time with it. The Ranger has a lot of potential and is much more diverse than the other classes from the start, and will likely benefit from learning new skills naturally as you level up.

Stance 1 (Available at level 1)

Fires an arrow that shoots shockwaves at the targeted enemy. You can perform a “finishing” attack by typing an additional command while the enemy is in the air.

Stance 2 (Available at level 1)

Quickly fires several penetrating arrows that injure several enemies in the line of fire.

Stance 3 (Available from level 4)

Fires a shockwave that knocks back enemies in front of you and sends you 10 meters backwards. If you press the button again after landing, you will glide. You can control the direction of your glide with the movement keys.

Stance 4 (Available from level 7)

Your skills do not consume arrows for a certain amount of time. This skill does not interrupt combos, even if used during a combo.

Crusader (Melee Damage Dealer/Tank)

As a sword-and-shield class, the Crusader has a much faster attack speed than the Berserker, but does significantly less damage. The advantage is that the class acts as a good support and can buff other players, although it is important to know when and how to use its abilities. It’s still a fun class to play, and you can always opt for damage-oriented skills over tanking ones as you level up.

Stance 1 (Available at level 1)

Jumps forward up to 20 meters, deals damage and knocks down affected enemies.

Stance 2 (Available at level 1)

Fill your weapon with shining light, then unleash it in a single devastating blast to damage and knock down the enemies in front of you. The longer you charge this skill, the more damage it will do.

Stance 3 (Available at level 4)

Strengthens the Righteous with an inspiring war cry that grants +10% defense to the Crusader and party members within 50 yards for 40 seconds.

Stance 4 (Available at level 7)

Quickly fires energy from the sword to attack enemies within range. Can be used up to two times in a row. This skill does not interrupt combos, even if used during a combo.

Priest (Healer/Ranged Damage Dealer)

The priest seems like a slightly watered down version of a mage. It’s a healer though, but also has its fair share of damage. Combat is fun – if a little less effective than the other ranged classes, but you can buff other players and heal and protect yourself with damage. And like the Crusader, you can always opt for damage if you get tired of keeping others alive.

Stance 1 (Available at level 1)

Throws the target into the air and inflicts the debuff Holy Flame, dealing damage over time for 12 seconds. This effect can be stacked up to three times.

Stance 2 (Available at level 1)

Summons a divine strike that damages enemies in front of you. This skill does not interrupt combos, even if used during a combo.

Stance 3 (Available at level 4)

Gives the ground a holy power and increases the attack power of allies by 10% for 40 seconds. If Holy Ground is used again when it is already activated, the ground ignites and deals damage to enemies on it. This skill does not interrupt combos, even if used during a combo.

Stance 4 (Available at level 7)

Creates an orb of healing magic that floats in place, allowing you or an ally to pass through it to restore HP. The orb disappears after 20 seconds if not used. (The effectiveness of this skill increases with attack power).
